The sermon is a hallmark of the evangelical church service, and so Christians are exposed to preaching on a weekly basis. Yet, many believers have not given careful and deliberate thought to the subject. For those training to be pastors, it can be difficult to know how to approach preaching, given the various opinions and thoughts on the matter.

This short primer on preaching provides a remedy by introducing the reader to expository preaching.

After a word on the importance of expository preaching, the author defines expository preaching, gives a rationale as to why pastors must preach, and concludes with practical advice on preparing and delivering an expository sermon. Those who stand in the pulpit and those who sit in the pew will benefit from this concise introduction. Pastors can also use the book to equip aspiring preachers and Bible teachers.

Across the globe a growing number of preachers possess a hunger for progress in making expositional sermons that matter for experiential living. To that end, Preaching Primer: An Introduction to Expository Preaching will be an additional help. Clarity, concision, and simplicity mark this volume.
