Jesus the great I AM

The ‘I am’ sayings of Jesus form the spine of the teaching of John‘s Gospel.
The ‘I am’ part speaks of Christ’s person; the second part explains Christ’s
work. Christ, the Bread of Life, removes the hunger caused by sin and brings the satisfaction of eternal life, the twin blessings of repentance and faith.
Christ, the Light of the World, illumines the mind leading to true assurance and gives spiritual sight, born of effectual calling.

Christ, the True Vine, both cleanses in justification and consecrates through
sanctification.
Jesus Christ is truly the great ‘I AM’.

Harry Uprichard is a retired minister of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, having pastored the congregation of Trinity, Ahoghill in Co. Antrim
